Power Director 14 Ultimate is a bugged up failed product!

Since 7/5 I've been working with your tech. support to resolve failed downloads for upgrading from Power Director 13 to Power Director 14 Ultra. The online store down loads continued to give a Cyberlink server failure error.

Then I was asked to download flashget3 product and it installed only two of the serveral files successfully the rest of the files including the large exe files for PD 14 Ultra and Content failed.

Then I was asked to go to a FTP site and down load. I downloaded these files over 8 hours. When I went to install the files each exe file went through the process of download only to get to the end of the progress bar and produce a file corruption error for which I sent screen shots. After trying one again to ensure all services were turned off including anti-virus and using a clean boot. The files were downloaded and once again corrupted. Now this is well over 16 hours of downloading only to find the installation downloads from the FTP have corrupted files.

Then I was asked to perform a clean reboot and try to re-install the downloaded files as the Administrator. I was already the administrator and this process too failed with files corruption again and again. I am up to 35 hours of downtime trying to resolve the failed download files.

Not only should I be provided a working product. I should also be refunded for all of the pain I'm experiencing trying to make your bugged up and failed download files work.

We are not Cyberlink, we are users like you. You should have 30 days to return the product for a full refund. With the problems you're having, it sounds like you should do so. You may want to purchase the full version on disk (I did) which avoids any problems with downloads.

Others may have other suggestions, but this seems to me to be the most straightforward. Regards,
Dan

Maybe the issue isn't to do with CyberLink's connection or the download files. Appears to be more to do with the internet connective device on your computer or the external hardware interface and ISP connection timing out. Your WiFi connection signal may also be contributing to the issue. Certainly the issue, to me, appears to be localised to your end rather than CyberLink's.

Clear out all the junk you have in the Windows Temp folder, that's a must do as you might just be repeating the error as it'll use the Temp content. Make sure you have sufficient download capacity from your ISP, you have a cable connection to your ISP/Computer interface and disengage your WiFi.

As I have already mentioned, this doesn't appear to be a CyberLink issue.

You might like to consider buying a disc version of the upgrade, that would circumvent the downloading and just leave you with the online activation confirmation when you install the software.

Just an opinion.

Your attitude from the first post is what's wrong with some people today: Rude and demanding took place of common sense and thinking. Entitlement generation.

  1. If the product is "bugged and failed" how come there are hunderds of users happy with the install here on the forum? Do you think CL decided to persecute you and only you with a special bugged product?

  2. You jump quickly to ask compensation for "pain". How about if YOU are wasting CL time when your crappy internet connection or bad HDD that is corrupting the downloaded files? Or maybe a virus that affected other parts of your system, essential for the program to work? In that last case, the PD not working is not the only issue that you have with your PC.

  3. You came here to vent your frustration. It's a forum of users, that try to help one to another and you are acting like you think we are employees of CL. The only way that you can interact directly with CL is via their support.

  4. No, I don't work for CL and I didn't get anything free from them.

Hello there,

Strange, we have PD14, CD4, PhotoDirector7, AudioDirector6 installed on 3 different computers (Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and 10) and that works perfectly well?

Maybe clean your computer a bit and see if you don't miss anything under Windows OS? It happened here with a laptop and Windows 8.1 and we reinstalled completely and runs smoothly now.
