Sound on video playback has "echo"

I just recently upgraded to the latest version of PowerDVD. I have noticed when playing either DVDs, or just any video, that the sound has an "echo". All of the dialog sounds like it is in an empty room. I have played the same videos with other players and this does not happen. Even in outdoor scenes, it sounds like everyone is in an emtpy, enclosed room.

I assume this is some sort of sound enhancement. I have tried many of the sound options, but the issue still exists. How can I turn of these "enhancements"?

Hi there,

I think that is the effect of surround sound.
Is your smart enhancement on (audio option checked)?
You can find this setting in Video Enhancement option, Smart Enhancement tab.

Sneaky putting an audio enhancement under video! No wonder I couldn't find it. That may have helped. I also found that the sound was set to "Dolby Virtual Speaker". Turning that off also seems to have helped.

Thank you!

If anybody needs more accurate tutorial, here you go:

1. Open Options (sprocket wheel image)
2. "Player Settings"
3. "Video, Audio, Subtitles"
4. "Videos:"
5. "Video Enhancements"
6. The "True Theather" window should pop up
7. Mark off the "Audio" check box
8. Done!
