NewBlueFX Plugins DONT work!
[Post New]
Hi, friends.

I have Power Director 14 64-bit edition and I currently have access to all of the plugins, including NewBlue FX, that are included with the factory install. I received an email from Cyberlink offering NewBlue FX Titler Pro 1 at a discount. I purchased it. Then, I installed it, letting NewBlue install it to the default location that the NewBlue FX program installs it to. The plugins don't show up. So, since there was NO DOCUMENTATION from the Cyberlink Edition of NewBlue FX Titler Pro 1 of where to install it, I went to NewBlueFX and found where they specified that it should be installed:

Cyberlink PowerDirector 64-bit: VideoFX: C:\Program Files\Cyberlink\Shared files\Plugin\NewBlue

Cyberlink PowerDirector 32-bit: VideoFX: C:\Program Files(x86)\Cyberlink\Shared files\Plugin\NewBlue

Still, no dice. Don't show up in the program. Has anybody had any success installing NewBlueFX Cyberlink Editions plugins that are purchsed after market from the typical installed content versions? These are Cyberlink add-on editions of NewBlueFX plugins that are purhchased after the fact (partner products) that seem to be a different breed. Help!!!

I have already have a ticket on this issue with Cyberlink, but it seems to have stalled, and now I'm in limbo...

Regards

Dave

Hi Dave -

I thought NewBlue Titler Pro 1.0 was installed as part of the standard PDR package... unless you have the Ultra or Deluxe version.

On my PC, NB Titler Pro is installed at C:\Program Files (x86)\NewBlue\Titler Pro for Windows

There's are also a separate file - TitlerPDRHost.dll - at C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Shared files\TemplatePlugin\Newblue

Does that help at all?

Cheers - Tony

Perhaps you are looking in the wrong place.
New Blue Titler is found in the Title Room (of course), but make sure your Title Room UI is set to view ALL the titles, and scroll to the bottom till you see the New Blue Titler.
You can also set the Title UI to view just New Blue and the "Effect" will be the only one there. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

@ynotfish: Hi! and thanks for your response. As I mentioned earlier, I did purchase NewBlueFX as as separate purchase from Cyberlink's partner products. Here is the link that takes you to the product on Cyberlink's website:
http://www.cyberlink.com/products/partner-plug-ins/partner-newblue_en_US.html
This is the version I'm referring to. Is this the one that you have?

@BarryTheCrab: Thanks for the advice on where to look in the Title Room. Yes, I had already been there and set it to show "All The Titles", and it was not there. Before I posted here, I scoured the web for answers to my question and could not find any first hand documentation on the Titler 1 install protocol. I do have all the other bundled NewBlue FX titles that come with PD 14, but I just can't get the one I purchased to show up.

Dave,
just throwing this out there, does it (Titler) appear in your installed programs list?
Mine is, not sure if it matters, but PD14 Live, and NBT-Pro shows up in my programs, though it came with PD. Is yours there? Maybe if it is, uninstall and go through the routine again and MAYBE you missed a prompt? I'm outta ideas, other than a ticket with New Blue. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

Hi Dave -

Barry's suggestion is a good one. There was possibly a prompt where you had to indicate it was a "plug-in" for PDR.

Yes - it's NewBlue Titler Pro 1.0

The folder where your NBTP is installed is not the same as mine (and probably everyone else's). Yours is in Cyberlink\Shared files\Plugin\NewBlue but it should be in C:\Program Files (x86)\NewBlue\Titler Pro for Windows

You may want to check a couple of things:

  1. When you go to C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Shared files\TemplatePlugin\Newblue is there a file called TitlerPDRHost.dll?

  2. Locate your TitlerPro for Windows folder and open it. What happens when you open/run TitlerStandalone.exe?

Hello, everybody!
I'm sorry to say that the suggestions posted did not work for me after much research and trying them out. So, I contacted NewBlueFX's customer support and explained to them the problem I was having installing this plugin. The next day, I received a link to download a version that works with PowerDirector 14. The name of the file is:
NewBlueTitlerProForWindowsSetup_PDR14-151224.exe
After downloading and installing it, it worked like a charm and it showed up in the Title Room no problem. So, I just want to thank you guys for helping me with this problem.

I have read with interest this posting. I have a similar problem.

Basically I have the Unlead Video studio and now Cyberlink Powerdirector 15. I have a lot of NewBlue FX plugins. Dozens all registered and working in Video studio. Would it be possible to take them from Studio and import them into Powerdirector? Seems a shame to pay twice for the same thing.

I tried putting the .xml files into C:\programfiles(x86)>Cyberlink>shared files>plugins>Newblue nothing shows in Power Director even with 'show all' and restarting.

Suggestions?

Thanks
