Create Disc - BluRay Menu Questions

I have several questions regarding the creation of BluRay menu's in PD14:

1. Is there any way to permanently remove the supplied templates? I tried removing them, but they reappear the next time I open PD14.

2. How can I set my own menu template as the default so it is always used for every disc?

3. Is there any way to permanently disable the background music? It always defaults to sports and I have to manually turn it off on every menu page.

4. None of my videos have chapters. Is there any way to make the chapter skip forward/backward jump to the next or previous title instead?

5. Is there any way to change the order of videos on the BluRay. Mine are labeled by date, but I want them in reverse order on the Blu-Ray (newest videos first).

6. Is there a way to predefine the Blu-Ray title? Right now it defaults to "My Videos" and I have to change it for every disc. Anthony Watson

I don’t recommend that PD14 users do what you want to do but all of that is easily accomplished. You should make temp folders throughout to hold what you are about to remove in case you change your mind later. Assuming that the installation is all at the default locations and it’s 64 bits.

For #2 go to c:\Program Files\Cyberlink\PowerDirector\Menus and remove the default Monopoly folder. Replace it with the folder of your user created menu or any desired menu.

For #1 go to c:\Program Files (x86)\Cyberlink\templates\ PowerDirector Content Pack Essentials\ and remove the contents in each Menu folder. Do the same in the Creative Design Packs and Premium folders if you have them.

For #3 replace the sports.mp3 file in the menu template with a silent audio mp3 file that you recorded as sports.mp3.

For #4 add a chapter one second before the end of each title.

For #5 Add the titles or contents or projects in the order you want them. That is add the newest first.

For #6 there are many ways to do it. One is to add a title to the root menu and move the My Videos off the screen or use a “space and a dot”. An easier way would be to type all your menu titles in notepad and save the list as a txt file. You can then open it as needed and copy and then paste with ctrl-v with My Videos highlighted.

Let us know if this helps.

Thanks Tomasc. I was hoping for simple to change settings, instead of work around hacks, but I'll see if I can use any of your ideas.

As for the order of the titles, it is too much trouble to import 15-20 videos one at a time to get them in the desired order. However, I just discovered I can click and drag the videos in the list to change their order. It's a slow process since the list doesn't scroll when you're dragging, but I can make do with it. You are mistaken here. Previously you said you don't want chapters and that you want only titles. Titles are separate projects or separate video files that you add to a menu.

What you describe above is creating one title and no chapters. How are you going to use the remote control to skip chapters when you don't have any?

No mistake, I'm talking about individual video files. When you import them into PD14 as a group, PD14 sorts them alphabetically (or the order they are stored on my drive anyway). I want them sorted in reverse order on the Blu-Ray, so the newest videos appear first in the list.

I did discover I can drag videos down the list to change the order. Unfortunately, the list doesn't scroll if I need to drag farther down a long list, but I can work around that minor annoyance.

Skipping titles with the chapter button was a different issue.

Your idea for silencing the sports.wma file didn't work for me, as that isn't always the sound file that PD14 defaults to. I still have to manually turn off the background music for every page, instead of a global option to just not use background music. Anthony Watson
