Particle needs to be moved
[Post New]
Hi all,

Two part question.

I have the following screen shot.

A) as this is an old file that needs updating I cannot find the particle, does anyone know the name of this particle so I can download it again (the background image behind my name).

B) My other problem is that, as you can see in the image, my name is not in the title safe area that is required, but I cannot move the particle ANy ideas?

James

Sorry yes it is a title.

Thank you for that, any ideas on how to move it up a little?

That movement sounds simple but as near as I know a brutal one. The proper workaround is quite a tedious one. Those animation files are built into the template. To shift the animation around, each of the hundreds of animation files needs to be modified. Possible, but not very fun. What I've done instead:

1) "Produce" just your title animation with like the green color board as background
2) Bring file from item 1 back into your real video timeline
3) Use chromo to remove green
4) Move around as any other PIP on a track

sample pic attached with it moved

Not sure I understand. The second approach I suggested takes about 60 seconds to do and really not tedious at all. To each their own, those are the only two ways I know of to move it.

I mean tedious because I have to do it each time, which is about 15 times an episode

Hi Director James -

You could use Jeff's suggestion, but do the green screen production without the text. Then use a title template that has the animation removed... that could be copied and pasted through your project, so you only need to modify the text.

I've attached a short project (including the JL_JL style produced animation) and a modified title template to install. The way I've done it, everything fits just inside the TV safe zone.

If you want to know about "tedious", some time back I modified that same template so it was lower on the screen... by modifying each of the 211 images in the animation! surprised http://directorzone.cyberlink.com/detail/131969760 I promise you, Jeff's method is far more elegant & efficient!

Cheers - Tony

I have made progress with what ynotfish has said and I have made it into a mp4, how do I convert an mp4 into a particle?

No need James.

Once you have your green screen MP4, containing the animation, you're good to go!

  • Track 1 - talking head video

  • Track 2 - green screen animation (to be chroma keyed)

  • Track 3 - text only title template

Once you've formatted one lot of text, just select the MP4 & title - copy and paste to other parts of the project.

Cheers - Tony

Director James - You might want to save that modified title as a title template in the library. You can then use it again and again with your name and title already typed the way you want it. Think that is what you want. It will save all that typing again and again by reusing it.

You still can use the green screen method suggested by Jeff and Tony. Let us know if this helps.
