I know how to put animated text and an image in Title Designer.

How do I make the BACKGROUND transparent?

I want to save the animated text and image as a template title file for use in my main video edit where I can then place the file anywhere over my video without blocking the whole frame.

I'm not sure I follow - if you create a title from scratch then the title background is transparent i.e. there isn't anything there.

p.s. If you want to animate a background below the title what I would do is insert it between the footage and the title as a separate video track and keyframe it as required.

Like Longedge says, isn't the background oin a title page already transparent? If it is not, don't we have to 'put something there' (like a color board or something) for it to NOT be transparent?

I'm trying to imagine what you want to achieve. The attached clip has 3 components:-

  1. video

  2. still image

  3. title.

I tried to overcomplicate the Title designer for no apparent reason!

I did what was suggested and it works just fine.

Thanks to all for the answers.

Glad you worked it out.

Could you go back to your first post in this thread and edit the subject line - maybe add something like 'PD - (and whatever version you are using 12 - 13- 14) - and then SOLVED' ... that would be great!

Thanks
