Cannot play files using "open with" command Windows 10

My new installation of PowerDVD 16 opens and plays all of my movie/video files with no problem when they are selected from WITHIN the program.

However, if I select a file in Windows Explorer and select "Open With" PDVD 16 nothing happens.

I have selected PDVD 16 as the default player in Autoplay but this makes no difference.

I have upgraded to every version since PDVD9 and have never experienced this problem before.

Also, if I select "open With" PDVD 15 insted of 16 the files play perfectly every time.

Is this a known issue and does anyone have a solution?

Hi Carlolsen,

Please delete the cache file under user's appdata:
C:\Users\(USER_NAME)\AppData\Local\CyberLink\PowerDVD16\cache

First you have to make sure that the hidden folder are visible.

If the problem is still happening so please reinstall PDVD without keeping user settings

If this have not helped so please submit Customer Support tickets.

Thanks,
Hicham
