Hi Guys

Quite suddenly I am experiencing two audio problems.

1/ If I take an Audio file from PD13 timeline into Audio Director for editing when I click 'Back' the file begins to save but freezes at 98% and refuses to return to PD13. I then loose all my edtiting.

2/ When creating DVDs I am getting a lot of DVDs with perfect video but no Audio. I am checking very carefully to set Dolby and 2 channell sterio. I have tried 5.1 surround sound also. Sometimes a perfect DVD but then one without Audio, then some OK and then no Audio?

Is it me, Is it PD13 or am I using bad DVDs (They are Verbatim DVD-Rs)

Any suggestions Please

If the problem persists, maybe burn to DVD AND to folder - compare the two. I think the folder version is the ISO file.

Could then determine if it's in the burning process or PD creation process perhaps?

Hi I've tried burning an ISO file and it works perfectly, but, as did the disc. However, As this particular problem is intermittent ( I have had four failures from a batch of 100 Verbatim DVDs) I am wondering if a 4% bad disc rate is normal?
With regard to burning and not using Dolby Digital 2.1 stereo. Could you please tell me which alternative I should use?
Has anyone a solution for my other problem, that of PD and Audio Director not working together? Or should I have posted this as a separate topic

Since your subject title is 'Audio Problems' - I personally think you could leave it here.

But if you did create another thread I think the title should specifically say something like 'PD and Audio Director not working together' ... or something like that.... it's up to you if you want to create another thread.

But I think people may respond here yet... so.. maybe give it a day or two to try to reach others?

Unusual perhaps but I had occasional bad batches of media when I was still working. I used to get through around 1500 discs a month on our duplicators and most of the time there might be just an odd 1 or 2 in a 100 pack. From memory the most I ever found in the rejects when I got to work one morning was about 30 out of a batch of 250. They all had visible defects in the polycarbonate.

Lowering that burn speed could help with some questionable blank DVD's.

You don't happen to know what those maximum and minimum numbers are tomasc? I just saw mine is set at 48.0 and am just curious. ( I imagine 0 is minimum)

Yes that 48 speed is the default for CD. Put a blank DVD in the burner while in the PD13 Final Burn window and it can be up to say 16x, the max for a particular brand and type. You click on the drop down arrow to open a window and set one of the lower speeds available.

On DVD+RW it can be up to 8x for supported discs but generally 4x. The Memorex 8x DVD+RW works great at 8x in my DVD burner in my other pc. On this one with a BD burner, the same 8x burns are unreadable so I have to change it to 4x to make it readable (ironic, isn't it?).
