It is a while since I used PD and I have now uograded from 12 to 13 Ultra. Whenever I insert a Title and add text/images etc. I have to give it a name in saving ( cannot recall having to do this with PD12) Also if ever I edit this titles then again upon saving I have to give it a name.. I must be doing something wrong or not understnad.

How do I create a tile with text and images and motions and yet can readily alter it and not having to keep saving as a template title..help

Hi jshepnz -

PDR12 & 13 work pretty much the same way in that regard.

Once you insert one of the templates in the timeline, then go to Modify to change text & add effects, you'll have three options:

Save: saves your changes and you return to the timline

Save As: saves your changes as a new template (and you're asked for a name etc)

Share: saves as a new template & uploads to DirectorZone

If you only want to keep your changes and NOT create a new template, just click Save

Cheers - Tony

Am I missing something! Sure I select the title that I first designed and inserted into the timeline and it loads ready for editing .. After my changes I cannot see any options for Save or Save As but I use the X to close the title designer and that is when I am givien a pop up msg (see attached file) which gives 3 options viz: to 1. Save and it always ask for a template name (which means entering again the same name as I first gave to the title) 2. Not to save and 3. Cancel which does not close the designer and allows me to continue editing. So I am none the wiser

The 3 options that Tony mentioned are always at the bottom of Title Designer. See the screenshot for details. Replicated what you did when the X is used to close title designer. Could you post a screenshot of your title designer to compare.

EDIT: It looks like Tony posted 4 seconds earlier while I was still typing. That is a good detailed YT video on how to use title designer.
