Sound from right channel disappeared
[Post New]
I have edited all my videos together to make a 25 minute show, when I was editing the sound was fine.

I then spent about an hour editing the files without listening to the sound (as I didn't need to and I need to listen out for my kids), and now that I want to do the final edit the right channel sound has gone - literally gone!
I went to waveEditor to see if I was mistaken but there it was - one long flat line in the right channel.

My auto saves do not go back far enough to work out when this happened ....

Any help or suggestions welcome, I don't want to have to go thorugh all the files and copy/paste the left channel into the right with waveEditor.

Sounds like you maybe had mono sound initially and manually copied to the other channel. Not sure what edit action would have made it disappear. What you could do is use CL TrueTheater during produce or create disk, it will copy the left channel to the right during the produce process. This minimizes the effort of doing it on every clip.

Some cameras and camcorders record mono only which comes out as one channel in PD. You can use the audio editor of PD to copy the audio track over to the empty track. Win 10, i7

Thank you for the replies.

But I think you haves missed the actual problem - that the sound was in BOTH speakers (stereo) when the video was being edited in power director and then suddenly it's gone

It was two different sound tracks, one from each channel, not just one sound track being played through both channels, correct? (True stereo vs. binaural mono). Regards,
Dan
