HI THERE

Am having an issue where DVD DL is displaying with a noticeable green hue & colors are subdued in POWER DIRECTOR 13. I am burning the DVD's the way I normally do but just had 3 burned DVD's with this hue. The files look great with normal colors in the preview section of POWER DIRECTOR 13 but after burning they appear with this green hue. They look like what appears on screen if you didn't plug one of the component color plugs into a DVD player. Have tried to playing them on three diffrent table top DVD players & the computer itself but they all play the same. I burned two different DVD's yesterday in the my normal ways & they all play normally. Driving me nuts. Thanks for any help.

Hello, STEVE_MORARTY!

Let me try to get this straight, You say the DVDs you burn will play normally on any DVD player but appear to have a greenish hue over them on playback in your computer or the clips play like this while still in editing stage? It could be the setting in your computer, I'm only guessing, mind you, but I've never struck a situation like this. I think some more detail may be needed before anyone here can really get to grips with your situation.

Cheers!

Neil.

NEIL Thanks for your quik reply. It looks like it was the internal DVD burner. Got a hold of a external burner and tried it & all went smooth. Thanks

Hi, Steve!

That's a curious situation, the internal DVD rewrite drive doing that! Very unusual indeed!, but seeing you've solved the problem with an external DVD rewrite drive, all's well that ends well!

Cheers!

It could have been the device driver. I'd guess the external drive uses a different (USB) one. The internal drive will likely be SATA. Regards,
Mike

Hi, Mike!

That could be a distinct possibility! IDE, perhaps?

Cheers!

Hi Neil. You have to be careful with your technology definitions. IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics) is actually used both in SATA (Serial ATA) and the older PATA (Parallel ATA) although 'IDE' is usually used as representing the parallel version. See here.

However, that's academic as either way it'll be a different driver from the external USB drive. It might be worth STEVE_MORARTY looking on the drive manufacturers website to see if a newer driver is available. Regards,
Mike

Hi, Mike!

I was just guessing! A "thought bubble" as it were!

Cheers!
