split video clips flicker

I have video clips that are too long so I trimmed them using the split feature on PD14. The resulting segments I don't want to use are removed and the gaps filled with the segments I want to use along with fading tranisitions between them. However when I previewed AND produced the final video, there is flickering (like instantaneous ON and OFF) of the video where there was no splitting and transitioning. How can I eliminate this problem.

Hi betanc1496,
Just check by expanding the tracks fully to see if you have a gap between clips.

Uncheck hardware acceleration in Preferences if selected.

Please advise the selected output choices. Please provide the MediaInfo of the video you're editing. I'm also wondering if SVRT is causing the issue for you, there is a reported issue on the forum.

After expanding the tracks, I did see blanks within the clips and that fixed the problem. Thanks

Hi, Betanc1496!

A trap for the unwary, maybe! But in normal curcumstances, when you split a video in PD14 you should get the following message, giving you these choices: "Remove and leave gap"; "Remove and fill gap"; "Remove, Fill gap and move all clips". This message comes up when you're about to delete an unwanted section between two splits. In older versions(PD8 and earlier), the gap is simply filled automatically, but(I think) from version 9 onwards of Power Director, you'll get the message I've described, or at least you should do. Hope that's of some help.

Cheers!

Neil.
