For cuple of weeks I am trying to find out why Cybrlink bundles Power director6 to Samsung HMX20C when it doesn´t support format of videofiles from this camcorder.
I asked the technical support but without helpful reaction.
Is there somebody owner of the same camcorder?
How do you solve problems with 50fps files when PD supports only 25fps?
thank you for any info

Marek,

I'm interested to see if your video imports into PD7, I've also got PD6.5 (Express) on my computer. Are you willing to capture a raw 5 second clip and upload it to an FTP location for me to look at?

PM me your email address and I'll send the information to you.

Please quote the url for this posting as MY reference - I get a lot of stuff to look at and I want to reply to you asap. http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/0/4721.page:

Hi Marek,

What I found was:
1. VideoLan player did NOT play the file (normally fine with my mp4's) - it just could not decode it - hung.
2. QuickTime - came with PD returned a green screen.
3. PD7 - Preview - in selecting file to bring into PD - displayed the file
4. PD7 Preview played the file - no problems
5. PD7 - Time-line, displayed and played the file - no problems

The video is looking down an entrance set of steps towards a road. A silver estate car is on the left and panning to a white car on the right.

PD7 Ultra - used by me.

hi dafydd

yes - PD 7 can open it , PD 7 can put it into timeline also,
but says: bad TV format.

Please try to produce the video into DVD mpeq, and then look at the edges and check smoothness of output video.
It looks bad.
I think PD can not recalculate 50fps of source video into 25fps of output videofile without corrupting the smooth movement

thank you
marek

The "bad TV format" is a general notification which I've opted out of on my system because I regularily bring in footage which is captured at 15fps. It isn't anything to greatly worry about.

When I have 5 minutes spare I will look at the video and render etc.

Please be aware you're asking me to look at a HD footage that you want rendered to a lower resolution - heck it isn't going to be better than what you have already.

Read Bif's post - this mornings.

Perhaps you should experiment with making your own wmv HD template 50fps.
