I am going to purchase power director 14 suite. Can some one give me step by step instructions how to make my own back up disc. Are the downloaded files spread to many locations on the computer HD or do they all go to location in the downloads file? Do I first download all the files and then copy to disc before running the program? I have bluray discs if the files exceed the capability of a standard DVD.

thanks

Hello, HeavyTiger!

If you have a disc copying software on your computer, just use that. The retail versions of Power Director come on DVD so simply make yourself a back-up copy using Roxio or Nero or any other disc copying software you may have.

Cheers!

it's going to download to your default download folder.

All are downloaded to folder where you set your browser to save downloaded files.

One of the content packs is over 2 gigs and you should first split it using some free program like 7-zip so it gets written correctly to disk.

You can burn everything to a Dual Layer disk of ~ 8 Gigs, but better to split the files into two batches and use a pair of regular DVDs.

The Cyberlink Downloader gives you the option of choosing where you want the download to be saved on your computer. The download is always saved in one location, in the Default download location defined by Microsoft if you do not change the location.

Some downloaded Programs from Cyberlink are over 4.7 Gigabytes, if you download one of those, then burn to a Double Layer DVD or copy to an External Hard Drive.

Fat32 disk format limits the file size to just under 4 Gigabytes, NTFS is unlimited in file size. Most Flash Drives are Fat32, so will not save a download over 4 GB in one file.

I've recently reformatted a few flash drives that were on the larger size (64GB - 128GB) in NTFS and saved files that were larger than 4GB on them.

Used them to put a few PD projects that were in excess of 4GB too - played fine.

So I need to download first, then save a copy to a double layer DVD. This would be done before clicking on run program. After the copy is made I go back to the original downloaded file file to install the program. What subfile do I look for to install the program?

The downloaded file is an EXE, you copy that file to your backup media. To install, you double click that file. You can run that EXE from either the downloaded folder or from the Backup Media. (I burn mine to a Double Layer DVD) when installing from the DVD, just double click (Run) the EXE.

Some of Cyberlink's downloads are split into an EXE and some RAR archives. You still double click (run) the exe. The exe will extract as needed from the RAR files.

The exe and rar files must be in the same folder. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.
