Iam trying to sync a group of photos to music so when music hits a specific beat the photo changes. Is there a video tutorial? Or steps in the tutorial book. I am using the new PD14. Thanks in advance..

Look at this tutorial video. It uses uses the PD music beat detection: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGnhncd92tI . Let us know if this helps.

Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately that video does not show how to sync music to photo's. In the on line help section the following step is provided.....
------------------------
5. Click on Apply to close the Music Beat Detection window.
Once the music beat clip markers are added, media will snap to them when added to a track on the timeline.
------------------------

I cannot get the photos to "snap" to the beat.

Is there another video?

Thanks!!!

I think you are correct, at least the snap feature is not at all like it was at PD13 on my PC. Mine snaps but on what appears to be just random beat markers so not real helpful.

See if the pic helps you and see how the snap behaves for you. For me, as I slide my pic along the timeline I get periodic snaps at certain beat markers but not all. PD13 would snap to each beat detection marker, PD14 is hit and miss for me.

Jeff, you are correct. Mine is random also and not an exact "snap". How can I get cyberlink to explain or update so this is a "snap"...LOL

Thanks! Morris

Only option I'm aware of is working with CL support, http://www.cyberlink.com/support/contact-support.jsp . Write up the description to be very simple and accurate. Often creating a small screen capture of just the issue may help. Referencing a thread in the forum on the support ticket may help. You will usually get a couple of canned note card type responses initially, don’t lose patience, keep replying until you have some form of resolution for your needs.

Hi MORRIS F -

Just to confirm what you & Jeff have found. In PDR14 media "snapping to the beat markers" is a very random thing. In PDR13, as you drag an image to a beat marker it "snaps" - pop-up marker line to indicate photo is aligned with marker.

There's a short (low res) screen capture attached showing a comparison of PDR13 & 14.

So - in PDR14 - that feature is extremely limited by poor function. Here's an old thread (pre-beat detection) that describes some other possibilities for syncing photos to music - http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/9308.page

Cheers - Tony

Thanks... a long thread and interesting info. I am surprised that cyberlink had a similar problem a number of years ago and now in the newest version of PD14 a simple editing tool should automatically produce a nice film. Will get comment later...wife yelling about dinner...LOL
