I've produced 3 Quicktime videos and do not get audio.

Can anyone solve this problem? or has had the same problem?

Do the source clips play on the timeline with video and audio before you try to produce it? Get mediainfo and determine the type of files you have if there is no audio. If there is audio then determine if you uncheched the audio track or if you muted the clips while editing and simply forgot to unmute them before producing.

Source clips play on the tracks. When I made a Mpeg4 of the video I got sound. No sound on any of the Quicktime videos.
Thanks for answering.

Have you tried playing the produced Quitcktime videos in PowerDirector? If it plays with sound then it can be a codec issue with your computer Main Machine: Jetway NF9G-QM77, Intel i7-3610QM, Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 3GB, 128gb SSD, Windows 10 Pro
Secondary Machine: Lenovo Y510p, Intel i7-4700MQ 2.4Ghz, 2x nVidia GT750M, 500GB SSHD, Windows 10 Education

In your case, I think if you simple create a custom profile and change the audio to LPCM you may recover the audio track during playback.

Source clips in Quicktime do not play on the timeline, but AVCHD will play with sound. Timeline plays, but not the Quicktime versions.

So the custom profile did not work to add audio playback of "Produced" clips?

This is probably a codec issue. You already stated that a produced mp4 file has audio. Don't know why you insist on having mov files in a windows enviroment. It would be easy enough just to produce the default mov from that mp4 file that has audio.

You can use mediainfo to find the details.

What players have you tried to play the Quicktime MOV file in?

I produced a 1920x1080/30P MOV file in PD14, it plays OK (with audio) in PD media library, Quicktime Player, and VLC player. It does not have audio in Windows Media player (I have not updated my Codecs). Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

Hi Daniel F -

You're ready to give up but you haven't provided enough information to allow members to help you resolve the issue.

You said "Source clips play on the tracks", then later, "Source clips in Quicktime do not play on the timeline." I guess you're referring to the audio playback. Is it yes or no?

I used some MOV clips from a Nikon DSLR (the audio played in the timeline). Using the default QT MOV 1920x1080 profile, there was no audio in PDR or any player I tested. Following Jeff's suggestion to produce with LPCM audio, all was well. Audio in PDR & every player I tested (including WMP)... but you say that didn't work for you either.

Please provide:

  1. MediaInfo report on your source clips

  2. A short sample clip from your camera (we don't even know if that's what your source clip is).

I have K-Lite Codec pack installed.

Cheers - Tony
