Hi there

I was having problems with PD10 not opening and so I unistalled and then reinstalled. This did not work. I then searched this forum and found out it wa an AMD driver issue, so i did a driver rollback and now all is working again.

However... when I try to update PD10, I get a runtime error failure.

So what am I doing wrong?

Question 2: If I was to update to a newer version of Powerdirector, say PD14, would my old editing files open in the new version?

Thank you.

For your first issue, you're not doing anything wrong but there seems to be a problem is with the downloader app. I'd suggest downloading another copy from the support page (this one will be saved as CyberLink_PowerDirector_Downloader (2).exe, so don't run the one ending in (1).exe) and see if the program will run successfully. I'm not able to run that app on my Win10 system because the security certificate has problems

In answer to your second question, all newer versions of PD are able to open any project created in an earlier version.

This part probably doesn't apply since you may be moving on from PD10, but if you open and then save the project in PD14 you won't be able to open the project in PD10.
