Not necessarily. It can read it but if you don't have a software DVD Player e.g.Cyberlink's "Power DVD" then it won't play. If you double click on the .vob file/s then they may well play in Windows Media Player but it depends on the codecs you've got on your system.
p.s. -
VLC is a good all round media player that is capable of playing the .vob's but it's not a substitute for a 'proper' DVD player.
