After installing Windows 10 the video was jumping/jerky in PD 13 although the original footage is good. I purchased PD 14 and thought the latest version would have dealt with that issue, but it still continues. I have tried to install the two PD 14 patches but I keep getting the message "You do not have the required version of the program installed on your system". Can anyone inform me how do I rectify this problem ..? Rgds ...Ian Ian Crowhurst

Hi Paul ...Thanks for your reply. Windows 10 Pro Version 1511 OS Build 10586.17. I don't have any problem with computer speed and I have been editing for many years. The video was playing well in PD 13 and it is only after installing Windows 10 I have had a problem of the picture jumping. Unfortunately I can't install patches, so don't know whether they would help. I thought PD 14 would have ironed out any Windows 10 problems but obviously not ... Ian Ian Crowhurst

Concerning the update patches, what version is your current PD14, click the "PowerDirector" icon in upper right hand corner.

Hi Jeff ...The version I am running is 14.0.2019.0. I had written to support who replied and sent me the link to this version. However, having now installed it the picture is still jumping. When I attempt to install the 2019 update I get the message "You do not have the required version of the program installed on your system." Ian Crowhurst

Yes, that warning/error message probably makes sense, you have build 2019 installed so can't reinstall same build?

If you download the newer update, 11/23/2015, build 2302 you should be able to install that. Once done, the about box in PD14 will show 14.0.2302.0. The update that you install should also reference 2302 in the name like PowerDirector_2302a_GM3_Patch_Patch_VDE151023-03.exe

Is it too late for you to restore your old operating system prior to win 10 that you are familiar with? A Dxsiag.txt is useful for users here to see what might be the problem. I'm sure millions of win 10 users are satisfied that everything is working properly. Without the Dxdiag.txt that Paul mentioned earlier then users can only guess what might be the problem as others have no problem.

The problem only started after installing Windows 10 I updated the video driver (thanks jcardana) but the video keeps jumping.I read on another site that it this can happen but once rendered the picture is fine. I tried this with a short piece of footage but of course it still jumps after rendering. Anything else you can think of Jeff Ian Crowhurst

If I may go on a hunch... My dad was also having video problems once.
I noticed your User DPI setting is 125%. That's so you text appears a little larger for some of the older eyes. It's not supposed to affect anything else, but if programmers don't account for the change, strange things happen.
Try setting the DPI back to 100% by right-clicking on the desktop and select Display Settings.

I had exactly the same problem...

Updated the driver of my Nvidia Graphics Card and problem solved.

Reading through all the above gives me only the thought that I'm glad I stayed with Windows 7 and avoided all the upgrade grief that seems to accompany Windows 10!

Cheers!

Neil has a very good point here. I have heard that upgrading to win 10 also updates all the drivers in the pc to make it win 10 compatible. That being the case then uninstalling the video driver and installing the original video driver before the upgrade can solve the problem here. This would be a simple fix. Others have done it on this forum.

Thanks for all the suggestions but I have tried both new and old video drivers and the jumping/flickering picture continues. What doesn't make sense is that the video plays well in both Video and TV player and Windows Media Payer which I would have thought dispels a driver issue. I will try to make a clean install of PD 14 again and see what happens. I am still open to any other suggestions guys ... Ian Crowhurst
