What product should I buy?

Hi:

I need to make a 40 photo memorial slideshow. It's probably a one time project but I want a professional looking classy show. It's in rememberance of a loved one.

The only thing I need is interesting transitions, professional looking titles for each photo and titles for lead-ins to groups of photos. I want to tell a life story with photos and titles. I'd also like to use pan and scan or other similar effects.

I noticed Cyberlink Power Director 13 ULTRA is only $29 on Amazon. I'm assuming that's because it's last years addition. The reg price was $99. I'm willing to pay more if the new version has significant improvements that would help my project. Would it be better if I bought a Deluxe or Ultimate 14 edition?

I'm not sure the difference between Ultra 13 and Deluxe or Ultimate 14 and if those differences would make a difference for my sldieshow project? The ULTRA 14 on Amazon is $99 so there's a $70 difference between the Ultra 14 and the Ultra 13.

Also if I wanted to insert a 45 second video at the end of the slideshow could any of the editons do that equally well?

Thank you for your time. Doug

PowerDirector 13 Ultra is a 64 Bit program and has most of the features in Powerdirector 13. Powerdirector 13 Deluxe is a 32 bit program which makes it limited in use of the resources in a 64 Bit Operation System.

There are some changes and improvements in Powerdirector 14, but I doubt you would benefit from the price difference for the job you want to do.

Both have built-in templates for making slideshows (movies from pictures). They both have Magic Motion which works on pictures. The transitions are pretty much the same in both PD 13 and PD 14.

You can insert a movie at the end of a slideshow just fine. You can do anything you can think up just about in either PD 13 or PD14.

Hi Douglas6836 - Download the free trial verson of PDR14 and try it. I found it's better to first resize pics to your planned output format.

Hi AlS,
I think Your answer was meant to be to Douglas6836.

And Douglas6836, It's always a good idea to try a free trial even if the trial version is limited.
