It would seem to the the right time to purchase a new version of Powerdirector. The current version is Powerdirector 14.
I don't think you can use the same "product key" with a different copy of PD7. The product keys are unique to each copy as they come off the production line at Cyberlink. I have my old PD7 but it's key will be different to that of yours. Didn't you get the disc? I installed PD5, then 7, then 8 and finally 14, each, in turn from the actual physical installation disc(the only way to fly! At least it is, for me anyway) and the product... or CD Key is printed on the sleeve which holds the disc.

Hi Andries,
If you purchased it from the CyberLink web site, then they will have a record of your purchase. Just contact customer service with the email address you used (i.e. the email address the product key you mentioned was sent to) and they should provide you with a fresh download link for the PowerDirector 7 build.
CLD has given you the answer you need. Cheers, CLD! As I stated, the product key is unique to eack copy of Power Director, whichever version you purchase, be it as a download or as a physical disc(the way I much prefer to have them), and the key for onde copy of PD7(for example) will not activate another copy of same.
Cheers for now and good luck in procuring your new copy of PD7. A tip though, burn it to DVD when you do get it and print the key on the label so as to have a back-up copy.

Hi Andries,
It may be the case that it does not officially support Windows 7, as the last patch for retail PowerDirector 7 came out before the release of Windows 7 in July 2009.
Doesn't matter though. If they found your record, just tell them that you want to download link to the software. Tell them that you want to install on Windows 7. It is not there place to tell you can't try, they should just warn you that it might not function correctly.
