installing Content Packs without installing Main Program

Can I install the Content Packs without installing and reinstalling the main programs?

I have content packs going back to version 9. In the past, as I purchased new versions of PowerDirector, I would install the new version over the old versions, so most content stayed intact. I just brought a new computer and frankly didn't want to install five versions of PowerDirector.

When I attempt to install previous content packs, I am told I must install the previous version first. Is there a workaround to this? Is there a way to download previous content packs?

Thanks,

Scott

Might be a rather loaded question and I have no clear answer.

My experience would say it depends on what content you want/need. Some stuff is hosted on directorzone, like older templates: This FAQ addressed those http://www.cyberlink.com/support/product-faq-content.do?id=16455&prodId=4&prodVerId=-1&CategoryId=1&keyword=directorzone
Yes this yields some 1961 downloads, not sure how that's practical.

If you want like the older Newblue effects bundled with earlier versions, then this applies http://www.cyberlink.com/support/product-faq-content.do?id=18601&prodId=4&prodVerId=1199&CategoryId=-1&keyword=

On a recent new PC of mine I had to go back to PD11 and install through PD14 to get everything I thought I had paid for along the way that would still apply to PD14. Not real convenient. I had put in a suggestion of a better PC update path for long time users in the PD14 suggestions box, but it's just that, a suggestion and also suggested years past.

Other options also exist but depend on computer savy,

Jeff

Jeff,

Thanks for the reply. That gives me the information I need to make an informed decision on the value of reinstalling back to PD11 or living without the titles and transitions I have been using.

Appreciate the input.

If you have the EXE for your latest content packs, you should be able to directly install them without starting with PD11.

Only the program install requires the previous version, as far as I know. I really do not have any experience with installing upgrade versions of Powerdirector as I have always had FULL versions.
