Hello everyone,

Recently posted 1 issue i have with power dvd, my only other complaint or question so far is i can NOT find out how to get power dvd to display anything higher then 1920x1080, it seems automatic. i have a pretty high end machine:

i7 Extreme i975, 1st gen.

980 TI

8gb ram

500gb SSD, windows 10 64

Asus ROG Swift PG278Q

i know the monitor and clearly the video card can do higher then 1920x1080, currently its at 2560x1440p. question is...how do i get my movies to display in this resolution in power dvd 15 ultra?

What is the resolution of the "movie disc". Are you looking for upscaling? .

its a blu ray disc. retail. I figured since a lot of retail stores play them on 4k tv sets that the disc is maybe capable of also playing 4k? or do the discs themselves have to be specifically recorded at 4k?
so what I'm saying is, are there specific movies that are recorded just for 4k? or are all blu ray discs just 1920x1080?

Most blu ray are 1920 by 1080.

Read this about 4K discs arrriving by in 2015.

With PDVD15 you can easily upscale BD disc content to higher than HD resolutions. Or even DVD 720x576, or re-encoded footage such as h264 in a MKV container,

2560x1440p will be the max you can do given your monitor and GPU config

Simply set your native desktop resolution, bit depth, and use a supported cable to your monitor. Dont use convertors/adapters, dont use a cable type that isnt supported for your resolution etcetc.

However, some UHD displays are limited in 3D to HD resolutions only. If you capture the EDID of your monitor it will say so.
