I want to get a remote for my computer, but I need to know if PowerDVD 15 has support for remote control. Physical remote, mind you, not the app. Tried that, can't find my computer... "Good judgement comes from experience. And a lot of that comes from bad judgement." --Will Rogers

PowerDVD uses your SMART DEVICE as a remote. Did you try enabling that and installing the app? .

As I said, I already tried the app. It couldn't find my PC, even though I had the 4 digit pairing code displayed in PowerDVD. Before you ask, yes, both my smartphone and PC are on the same Wi-Fi network. Wrote a bit about the issue on the Play Store, too. So, will it support a physical Bluetooth enabled remote control device? Even through key mapping? "Good judgement comes from experience. And a lot of that comes from bad judgement." --Will Rogers

Not trying to be rude, but, does anyone even read someone's posts? Bluetooth. Not IR. "Good judgement comes from experience. And a lot of that comes from bad judgement." --Will Rogers

Not trying to be rude, but have you read anywhere about PowerDVD supporting Bluetooth?

I want to apologize for behavior...I don't know what my deal was yesterday. I'm not usually that irritable. But, I'll be receiving a PS3 bluray remote control today, and I'll let you guys know what I find out. "Good judgement comes from experience. And a lot of that comes from bad judgement." --Will Rogers

Good luck, but I don't expect that to work.

I expect it to need one other piece of software, but from the tutorials I've read, it should work; the concept is that the remote essentially works as a specialized keyboard. It's the key mapping I was talking about before. "Good judgement comes from experience. And a lot of that comes from bad judgement." --Will Rogers

Well, it does work. It also controls my TV, so, it's the best of both worlds! I can now use a remote to control PowerDVD. For anyone who DOES want to do this without having an IR remote, the PS3 Blu-Ray/Media remote is a good option. All it requires extra is a Bluetooth dongle, and a piece of keymapping software called PS3BluMote. I won't post a link here, 'caue I don't know if external links are allowed, but a quick Google search should turn it up. "Good judgement comes from experience.
