Hello

First post on this forum, so please be gentle!

I have Powerdirector Version 6.50.2129 running on XP. When I import a video media file into Edit page if I play back the clip I have cannot hear the audio from the file.

There is audio on there as I can hear in if I play back the same file on Windows Media Player.

The video files are taken from a Sony Handycam DCR-SR72 that produces files in the format listed below

Type: MPEG-2
Original duration: 00:00:11:01
Bitrate: 8.99 Mbps
Resolution: 720x576
Frame rate: 25.00 fps
Aspect Ratio: 16:9

Type: Dolby Digital
Sample rate: 48kHz
Bitrate: 256Kbps
Channel: Stereo

Has anyone else experienced the same thing? Or can anyone point me in the direction of a solution?

I'm not sure why do you have that kind of a problem but I would like to help.
I think I've had a problem like that once. Maybe my solution is kinda weird but I think you should try it ^^

I use Windows Movie Maker to make music file ... let's say better for work. I import it and put it into the timeline and create a new audio file. Then I use it.

But maybe someone has a better solution for your problem.
Good luck!

(sorry for my bad English ==')

I have the same problem with importing clips. No audio.
I'm using PD 6 DE. The clip is an MPEG-2, which according to the help manual is a supported filetype.

I've searched on the board and have found this to be a common question with no answers. I really want to edit some video (with it's audio included), any help out there?

I seem to have found a solution. Convert the MPEG-2 clips to MPEG-1. The audio imports with it.
