Menu / Chapter issue after burning 50p

Hi there

I recorded some video in 50p 1920*1080,
produced a film of it with menu etc.
After choosing the codec h264 the bluray wad produced as folder and also burned on br-disc.
All went well.

Sadly when I want to play the br-disc in my br-player (and computer) I found out that the menu doesn´t work with the chapters. Also it was not possible to zap between the chapters or go fast forward.
The film it selfs played normal and I can watch it till the end with no defects.

As I thought that the menu/chapter issue has to do with the codec I als burned it (disc & folder)
in 50i in mpeg2. No issues there.

Anybody who can explain the issue
with the menu/chapter?
Has it to do with the 50p or
codec H264?

Computer information:

Windos 8.1, Intelcore i7 5820K, MSI 2gb d5xGTX960

Thanks in advance

Hi,

did you remember to change 'playback mode' before burning the disk?

or did it say: Start from the menu page and play all titles sequentially?

see attachments, please

cheers, anja

Hi thanks for your reply.

The settings where as in your pictures. So with starting at the menu.

I tested it before burning and went well.

Also in the 50I version on disc it went well.

I guess it has something to do with the 50p H264 codec.

But I do not have enough knowledge about the coding.

Correction: I can confirm this Issue. Can't switch between chapters or use fast forward during Playback . The BD Stream always plays from beginning.

But This issue exist if i produce 1080 INTERLACED H.264 BD Discs with Geforce Graphic Cards. It exists in PD14, too.

If I Produce 1080 Progressiv BD Disc with H.264 , the created Video playback is fine with chapters and fast forward.

I think its an issue with Geforce GTX960 to GTX980 compatibility, because if i use main an Intel HD Graphics, this issue isn't present.

Many thanks for clearing this out. Good to see my toughts confirmed.

With that in mind what would you recommend

Recording in 50p en burning in 50i or

Recordiing in 50i en burning in 50i

Would it make a difference to burn with the MPEG-2 or H264 codec (now i made it with the MPEG2 on 50i)

No, thanks, this isn't the Problem. You can select what you want, the Playback always runs in a "Loop". it's impossible to skip a chapter, or fast forward during playback. The Playback begins always from the first chapter again.

Hi both,

It's good that you came along, blasiusxx. You apparently know a lot of both BR and graphics. And have the opportunity to test both GeForce and Intel.
I'm just a user without much technical knowledge.

It is not surprising if it is a Nvidia problem. When I'm search at NVDIA in the forum: Search Results: 1540 records were found.
It would be nice if CL can or will fix various problems with Geforce.

paiceashtonlord # 123, to me it looks like blasiusxx recommends:

This is a bit confusing.

The issue at my side is only when I burn a BD on 1080 50p instead of 50i.

Would nice to be know if you had the same issue (looks like the otherway around).

I use Original AVCHD 1080 60p Streams, not 50p Streams. And if i Create a BD Disc in 1080 60p (Progressiv) with PD13+14, there wasn't issues with skip chapters and fast forward.

But if i Create a BD Disc in 1080 60i (Interlaced), the issue is present. I can't switch between chapters and fast Forward always starts the playback from beginning, same as skip chapter or play next chapter.

Don't know, if there is a difference between 60p or 50p Streams. There is an issue with the BD Disc H.264 Encoder and Geforce Graphic Card (Driver).

Had tested all the Geforce Drivers for the GTX960, same issue. Have tested it with Windows 10 64Bit, too. But the same.

The Only way to solve the issue is to create 60i BD Disc without Hardware Encoding, but then the Video quality is much worse than without GPU Encoding.

But i need the 60i BD Disc for comptability, too.

Think, there's a big bug in PD13+14 to Create BD Disc and Geforces.

At PowerDirector 13 System Requirements you will find this note:

NVIDIA:
•GeForce 8500GT/9800GT and above
•GeForce GT/GTS/GTX 200/400/500/600 Series

PLEASE NOTE: For users of NVIDIA cards who have updated to graphics driver 340.43 or later, the video hardware acceleration feature in PowerDirector is no longer available. To re-enable hardware acceleration, please download and install an earlier driver. PDR 14.0.4207.0 / Windows 10 64-bit / Asus / Intel i7-4790 3.60 GHz / 16GB RAM / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 / DirectX 12

laughing embarassed You are right, we both have an GTX9xx Series. Not an older. wink

Still, there are issues (23/09/2015 17:49:53): Able to use HA only one time - GTX960M

Just a side note.
I am currently working on a project (holiday in Asia), consisting of 12-15 sub-projects with photos and video clips captured with Canon PowerShot G2 and Panasonic DMC-FZ38. All projects contain material from both cameras.
The strange thing is that sometimes I'm able to use Intelligent SVRT and sometimes not.
Haven't yet worked out why. And I do not intend to spend time on it, since it's not terribly inconvenient. PDR 14.0.4207.0 / Windows 10 64-bit / Asus / Intel i7-4790 3.60 GHz / 16GB RAM / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 / DirectX 12

The theme is to "Create a Disc" , not "Produce". There is no SVRT in Create a Disc. It hat nothing to do with it.

Any info if Cyberlink comes up with a solution. You may think that they would do in PD14, but not.
