Multicam skipping
[Post New]
I am using multicam and have four video tracks (one in each camera track) each one about ten-25 minutes long, I also have an audio track that is 90 minutes long.

The program is able to synchronize everything and the camera tracks start at the 12 minute mark; everything works as it should until the 17:50:00 mark when the video suddenly skips to the 35:37:15 mark (and freezes), meanwhile the audio track keeps working as normal.

It also puts it that I have recorded those 18 minutes that I skipped.

I have started a new project and used the same files but I have the same problem.

This is a common problem with HD clips, and while it normally happens with somewhat under-powered computers it's been know to happen even with high-end equipment.

One thing to do is to reduce the preview quality from Full HD to simply HD or even High. The MultiCam Designer (MCD) window will start with the same setting you're using for the main editor window, but you can also click on the box to the right of the time numbers in the MCD and lower it there.

The best workflow here is to do a few minutes at a time, then exit the MCD and save the project as there's no way of saving until you're back on the main screen. This will help prevent a big loss of work should PD hang or crash for any reason.

Also, if the skip happens while you're working, just type <Ctrl>+Z or click on the undo arrow to get rid of the unwanted section and continue.

I have seen this problem too, though I wasn't using multicam, just many projects in a clip.

And let me know if this looks like what you are experimenting. I have sample footage of the misrendering.

I filed a bug report with Cyberlink about it. The issue is with both PD13 & PD14 . MSI X99A Raider

Upgrading to power director 14 seemed to six the bug.

I downloaded the trial version of 14 and it worked so I then paid for the upgrade.

I think it will end up being just one of those bugs
