[BUG] In Build 2003 white border with MCE plugin

I've installed build 2003 and there is a bug on Windows 8.1 Pro x64 with MCE.

When playing a bluray from MCE using the MCE plugin, there is a thin white border all around the screen that cannot be removed.

This is present in 2D and 3D.

It's not present in the standalone app (it's there initially but you can get rid of it when pressing the full screen icon and going to cinema mode).

I reinstalled build 1804 and the bug is gone, so it's only with 2003.

This is with an AMD HD7870 and Catalyst 14.12

I'm seeing the same thing. Version 15.0.2003.58 on Windows 7 SP1.

A couple more details: white border always appears when PowerDVD launched from within Windows Media Center. White border also sometimes appears if launching PowerDVD standalone, but directly into Cinema Mode (like if it was launched in Classic Mode, switched to Cinema Mode, and then closed). White border does not appear for me if launching PowerDVD in Classic Mode and then switching to Cinema Mode. When launching as a standalone app, I was able to get the white border to go away by Restoring the window, and then Maximizing it again. The white border may be a windowing artifact if the window is not maximized properly. I was not able to fix the problem this way when running in WMC.

It's as if when PowerDVD is launched from within WMC, it's not properly maximized, and the WMC window controls don't fix the problem.

Thanks for your feedback.

I've reported this issue to CS (Question ID = CS001505391) and it's being escalated.

It might help to get a faster resolution if you do the same - as well as anyone experiencing the issue - although I have given a link to this thread for reference.

Please post your case ID if you do open a ticket.

Also what's your GPU/OS/graphics driver version?

Core i5 processor with Intel HD Graphics.

I'm having the same issue.

Opened a ticket, was asked a few questions then the ticket was closed.

Did you guys get any traction on this on your side?

My ticket was closed too. The last I heard was on 10 sept:

"Regarding your concern, I would like to inform you that we have reported the condition to related departments for further investigation. Our engineers are working on research."

I have no idea why they close tickets before an issue has been resolved or even investigated, and am very disappointed that this hasn't been solved.

I had to revert to V1804 and am stuck with this version until this white border issue is resolved. Hopefully in the next patch?

I'll re-open the ticket otherwise.

What is your O/S, GPU and driver version?

Thanks. As it happens with AMD, Intel and NVidia, it's clearly not a configuration / driver issue.

Hopefully they were able to reproduce it and it will be fixed in the next build. Fingers crossed!

Please post here if/when a new build solves this, I frequently miss build releases. I'll do the same.

Its pretty common behaviour of IT companies. The support people are usually under "performance" targets and are pressured to make the figures look OK for Management. Some support policies define "closed" to mean things like not fixable on the current build, they arent going to fix it ever etcetc. My reading of their response is they know its not a client software corruption or install problem and its not a middleware/OS problem, they know its going to take time for their devs to code a fix so they closed it and sent you a were looking at it response.

I <think> the latest update fixes this. The last 2 movies started from MC did not have a white border.
