Timing of Scrolling Credits

I am editing a book trailer video I made a long time ago using PowerDirector 10. I need to edit it to change the book cover. The front cover is fine. I was able to remove the old cover and replace it with the new cover. The ending is a problem. In the original video, I had scrolling vertical credits that were an overlay on the old book cover. I am trying to remove the old cover at the end and have credits scrolling on the last frame of the video insztead of a cover image. Every time I remove the cover at the end and try to lengthen the time that the last frame stays on the screen, the old cover comes back. I have removed it, cut it, and deleted it and it still comes back. I am doing this editing using PowerDirector 13.

How do I permanently get rid of the old cover and extend the timing on the closing frame so it stays on the screen while the credits are scrolling?

I would really appreciate help with this.

Hi Janis

Is it the original PDS file that you are trying to edit or a produced version.

If you remove the back cover and replace it with a colour board does the cover still return? Panny TM10, GH2, GH4,

Hi Janis -

Don't worry. You're not the first person to experience "ghosts in the cupboard"... i.e. clips that keep re-appearing even after you thought you'd removed them from the timeline.

Try this:

After deleting the old cover from the timeline & media library, go to Preferences > General & manually delete all temporary files.

Save project & close - re-open project...

Go to C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\CyberLink\MediaCache & delete everything in the folder

While you're there, make sure C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\CyberLink\PowerDirector\13.0 is empty too.

Re-open project...

Thanks So much. That seemed to work. How do I set the timing of the last image so it remains on the screen while the credits are scrolling? That is all I need to know to finish this project.

If I understand right, you want to paralyze the video image.
Right click on the position and select, Edit Video / Image, Freeze frame.
Or take snapshot and add the position.
