I just got the JVC GZ-MG330A 30 Gig Camcorder, installed all of the Cyberlink software. I can Play the .mod files with the Power Cinema for Everio, but when I try to create a DVD with the software and try to import the .mod file it says that file is not supported.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
Kevin

Hi

What software are you trying to use to creatd a dvd?

The camera came with bundled Cyberlink software ( Cyberlink Power Cinema, Power Director and Power Producer )

Power Cinema-This is just used to Backup video files (MOD) from the camera to the PC via USB connection.

Power Director-This program will accept the saved MOD and allow you to edit the movie footage. Then you have 2 options.

1. Save as a AVI or MPEG 2 file on you PC.

2. Burn to DVD.

Power Producer-This program will open if you choose to burn a DVD for Power Director.

I get an error when trying to import the .mod files into Power Director 5.0 Express (this is the software that came with my camera). I have attached the error.

I have also attached the error in the power cinema NE 1.1 for Everio when I try to select the .mod file.

Thanks
Kevin

I can see in the 2nd screen shot that you are trying to burn a DVD. Power Cimena will not let you burn a DVD only back up.

do you have a program called Power DVD? This is a Cyberlink program and will need to be uninstalled along with the JVC software, then reinstalled and it should work fine, if it ask you to resitor just click on remind me latter.

That doesn't make any sense. I am following the procedures that came with the camera, and it is support to support .MOD files. The Everio software is suppose to handle all of those functions, it was customized for the JVC Everio cameras.

I do have powerDVD and that works fine.

I think cyberlink wants you to upgrade their software for a price to enable that function, since the camera only comes with Express version.

Power DVD the Cyberlink program that was pre-installed is a trial virison.
when you go to install new Cyberlink software the PC thinks it is a full virison, and will ask you for a CD-key. If you uninstall the Power DVD program and the JVC software there will be no history of trial software and should not ask you for a CD-key.

It's just an idea........................

The power DVD came with my DVD burner...and it not the full version, but it is not a trial version either.

I think that cyberlink just has crappy software and would never buy the full version, I am researching a good alternative for movie editing and burning...
