Is it possible to cut a certain part of a movie file? I need to get rid of a bottom portion of my video but I don't know how. Help?

Depending on what you need to cut you can either place the video in the PIP track and "overscan" it by enlarging the video.
Secondly you can overlay a colour board over the video by adding it to the PIP track then adjusting the size to cover the area you don't want.

If you really want to cut a horizontal part of the movie - as opposed to hide or not see it (as in pjc's solution), you might have to resort to using a screen capture program with a capture area set to miss out the bottom part of the movie, followed by a re-edit or whatever.

This probably won't be a very effective way of doing it - quality and speed are often things that suffer with screen capture - but it might be worth an experiment?

Cheers
