Hello,

Just upgraded to Windows 10. I have the latest NVidia drivers and PowerDVD 15 Ultra.

Before the upgrade, I was using Windows 7 and PDVD 13. Everything was great.

Now when I try to enable 3D playback, I get an error:

"PowerDVD could not enable stereo 3D"

When I use the NVidia Wizard, everything looks good. I can see the 3D effects in the setup wizard.

I'm using:

Windows 10 (with CU)

NVidia GTX 465 with driver 353.62

PowerDVD 15 1804.58

On a side note, I cannot close PowerDVD once it is launched. I need to use task manager.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Jason,

I have similar case as you mentioned and resolved by 1916 beta patch from forum.

Perhaps, you can give it a shot, FYI.

Thanks Allen. The BETA patch allows me to turn on 3D!

The problem I am facing now is that PDVD doesn't recognize the source file format. This is an MK3D file HSBS. In older versions of PDVD you could manually adjust the source format, but that option is greyed out.

I can confirm the 3D is working because it works when I choose to covert 2D --> 3D on a regular 2D movie.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks again,

Jason

Patch 1916 didn't fix the problem. I don't think this is related to issue others were having. I've been using Windows 10 for last year during the preview and this would occasionally happen. In one build would be broken, next get fixed and then break again. Unfortunately in final build doesn't seems broken again. I believe the issue is directly related to the Surface 3 Pro display port out and the Intel drivers for its HD5000 graphics. I have at times contacted Microsoft and Intel as well as PowerDVD 15. When I spoke to PowerDVD the response was it didn't support beta software as Windows 10 was still in development. Now it is finished I hope they fix this with the surface 3 Pro. Am I then only one using this device to try to watch 3D movies with. When it was working was great!

For me the patch fixed 3D playback. I can watch movies in 3D using NVidia GTX video card.

The problem now is that PowerDVD 15 does not support the mk3d file extension. It can playback 3D mkv files, but not mk3d.

Can somebody from Cyberlink acknowledge this and let us know if this will be supported again in the future?
