PD13 Produces Soundless Videos.

I have Director Suite 3 and I have used the Produce part of PD13 a few times to produce videos. The problem is when I go to produce the video. I set all the settings, hit produce, wait for it to render, and then watch the video in Windows Media Player. Usually, the first try at rendering makes a nice video.... without the 5 hours worth of sound work I've put in it. Then I try it again with different settings and, usually, on the third or fourth try it renders the video with sound.

I am just wondering what the problem is. I have a gaming computer with 8GB RAM, 1 TB hard drive, and 2GB dedicated graphics RAM. Not to mention the 64 bit OS and the i7 4700HQ quad core 2.4 GHz processor (the firmware makes it act like 8 core). Basically, it's not the computer.

I shot a wedding and had to use Adobe Lightroom to make the video!! OK, it was a slide show and the main reason I used LR was that PD13 wouldn't render decent looking photos. I would have used PD13 but, other than the photos being noisy, it wouldn't produce a video with sound. I will mention here that I did all the sound in Audio Director and that it was flawless and wonderful.

I understand why PD13 won't do photos, I mean it's for videos, not photos, but no sound is annoying. Especially when I spent $300 on it.

Anyway, I did get yesterday's video to have sound. The problem is the 5 tries to get it to work. One of the tries was soundless, the next was videoless!! (sound no video), the third was soundless again, and the fourth and fifth had perfect video and sound. I just want to know the reason for the problem so I can fix it permanantly.

I like the program and I have never had ANY issues with Audio Director or Photo Director. Computer: Asus ROG Gaming PC

First of all PD13 handles photos very well indeed.

Can you highlight one of the noisy photos in the library, right click, view properties, and post a screenshot of the result. Just so we know what we are up against.

Would you also post a screenshot of the Edit - MEDIA ROOM and Timeline with the problem video loaded

I don't know how to paste the screen shot to this page but here is the link.

If there is a way to post a video, tell me and I will show the result. The video is the place where it's noisy. Computer: Asus ROG Gaming PC

The link doesn't work.

I would rather see the material before production as requested before.

Make the screenshots, save them as Jpgs. Then on the forum page go to "post reply" click on attachments and browse for your file - then click submit Panny TM10, GH2, GH4,

These are extremely high resolution pictures, they are 4k stills.

Have you tried using the slideshow function in PD13 to see if that makes a difference.

For this exercise just highlight the first still, press shift and highlight the last. now all the stills should be highlighted.

Just above the timeline, click on SLIDESHOW, choose the normal one and set it up. When it's done all the pics will be in one clip. Play this and see if the quality is any better. Panny TM10, GH2, GH4,

What settings are you using to produce this project.

For example are you using H264 > MP4?

What resolution profile are you selecting? Panny TM10, GH2, GH4,

I have used slideshow. I used the normal way because I needed the music and photos timed just so.

Should I produce it or just preview? Computer: Asus ROG Gaming PC

Try producing it in something like H264 - MP4. Try, as a profile for this exercise 1920 x 1080 + your frame rate.

It should work Panny TM10, GH2, GH4,

The produce profile I used that worked last was custom.

1280x720

CVBR25000 bit rate

25000 max

smoothing

quality mode

MPEG

stereo

384

This was for a video from my phone. I used it for this just to make sure it was the same as the one that worked last. Computer: Asus ROG Gaming PC

Thanks for your help. I know you probably have other things you want to do today.

I am really only worried about the sound. The photos being clear is nice but an extra. The sound is a concern because I want it to work the first time. But like I said the program works on videos so I'm fine using another program for photos. Computer: Asus ROG Gaming PC

It worked!!!! It has the quality and sound! Thank you!

So what I need to do is always render at those settings? What if I have a 720p quality video, would I render at 720p or 1920x1080p?

Thanks again. Sorry to keep you up all night. I live in Tonga. Where are you located? Computer: Asus ROG Gaming PC

I don't know why I had no sound. Nor do I know what I changed.

All I know is that the PD13 renders video with sound now. I think that the profiles I used before were the problem. As for the photo quality, I think I had the wrong profile set. I might have used a non-HD setting for ultra HD photos. But as long as the profile I am using now works, I'm fine with the long render times. Thank you guys for your help. I have Director Suite 3. Will all 4 programs work with Windows 10? I saw that PD13 works, but I need to know about the other 3 programs. I also would like to know what hardware you are using for PD13. That way I know if it will work on my system.

To those of you who have Windows 10, is it faster or better than 8?

Thanks.

P.S. I really do like PD13 and AD5 and Photo Director 6. I havn't really used Color Director yet but I need to try it one of these days.
