Hello all!

I am building a video editing machine for my uncle at the moment. He wants to use PowerDirector 13 for editing his HD video's. I have build a system with the i7 5820K and 16gb RAM. The only thing left is the videocard.... I have read the system requirements, but most of those cards are not available any more. (talking about the gtx 660 or so). Could you guys give some advise about the newer videocards (rendering acceleration/decoding/encoding) . For example: is the gtx960 2gb a good choise? Or the Radeon R9 380 4GB? I think the 5820k has plenty of horsepower, but choosing a videocard... i'ts realy confusing. I hope you guys can help me.Oh btw: i am talking about rendering full HD video's. No 3D or 4K.

Greetings from Holland!

I asked the same question here a few weeks ago and ended up going with the GTX 960 2GB. If you look back you can read that thread. Tom

What's interesting is by the time you "choose" a vidcard, it's already obsolete CyberPowerPC | Win7HP-64 | AMD FX-8320 3.5 Ghz | 8GB Mem | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB | WEI 5.9

nVidia GTX 960. Supports now hardware rendering in full HD (and 2K and 4K) in h264 and is also ready for h265 (when it will be supported by PowerDirector).
