YouCam Deluxe v7 upgrade without any older version installed?

Cheers,

I bought the upgrade version of YouCam Deluxe v7 and tried to install it - without success; the installer refused to work as no previous version could be found.

The computer has been re-installed a few days ago - am I really being forced to install an old version just to watch it getting uninstalled immediately? Other CL software deals smarter with this and asks for the serial no. of the previous version.

I already dropped a ticket but no life sign from CL so far ...

Kind regards from 35 degrees warm Germany,

Usually installing an upgrade version will check old same product version is existing in the platform or not. So you need to install old version first.

... hmm. Power2Go, PowerDirector and PowerDVD don´t seek for an older version but ask for a qualifying serial no. instead. Same for competitors.

I think forcing the customer to install an old version prior the current one is a not-so-nice thing ...

Interesting.

I have had to install and uninstall YouTube 7 several times (debugging, long story), and I had uninstalled YouTube 6 awhile back. Not only that, but I had carefully scraped out every reference to YouTube 6 in the registry (again, debugging).

I don't know why my experience is different from yours. Jerry Schwartz

Finally we have this sorted. We had to remove all Cyberlink programmes - then uploading Youcam6 with an activation code - free from site. Then we reclicked on the original upgrade V7 link - then ....joy! it finally installed and works as it should.

good luck friends - ps - feel free to expouse praise and riches! lollaughing

Where was this located on their site? I am in the same boat. I have my YC6 email with product key and download URL but when I go it says expired. Still can't see how the YC7 upgrade just does not ask for the YC6 product key instead of putting us through this frustration.

Any help is appriciated.
