Since I've upgraded my AMD driver to 15.7. I cannot play Bluray smoothly anymore. I get heavy stuttering.

Anyone having this issue also? Martin

I have not yet used that driver. But with the previous driver I get stuttering if I have the "Enforce Smooth Video Playback" option ON. If the driver upgrade to 15.7 has turned it ON for you then I suggest turning it OFF and try playing a bluray again.

Yes, I upgraded my AMD graphics driver to 15.7 and got heavy stuttering too. Like you I turned off TrueTheater Video Enhancement and now it works fine. I made sure I had hardware acceleration switched on after turning off video enhancement.

I wonder which product is not working correctly? PowerDVD or the driver. Best regards,
Anthony.

It's the driver. If you check the "known issues" for that driver, there is an issue with PowerDVD.

I had the Beta drivers at one point a couple of months ago but it would not let me play 3D BD in 3D. So I reverted back to Omega drivers and I got 3D working. I am able to use all of the video enhancements such as TrueTheater, etc.

Thanks for that informative and helpful feedback about the driver issue d_mat.
Just a note Catalyst 15.7 is the only version of the AMD graphics driver I know of that is compatible with Windows 10, so if you are going to upgrade Windows you might need this latest driver.
Thanks again. Best regards,
Anthony.

The AMD Driver15.7 issue with PDVD is with 3D content playing in 2D. The Omega driver would only play True Theater after restarting PDVD. Now that trick doesn't work anymore.

Looks like it will be some time before either one of these two companies come up with a fix.

This is only a Technical Preview driver. The official AMD driver for Windows 10 will be released on the 29th:

This Technical Preview driver for Windows® 10 is provided "As Is". Please note, some features have been disabled in this preview driver. The official AMD driver offering full feature set support will be made available when Windows® 10 officially launches on July 29th, 2015.

Catalyst 15.7 also broke YouCam 6 and 7.

Had stupidly installed those drivers on my HP Pavilion g6-1201ev with the Radeon HD6620G mobile display card; I was unable to start the application and turn on the HP Webcam. The new Catalyst drivers kill the Windows Experience index causing the rating assessment to fail unexpectedly.

I would stay with Omega 14.12 until the next WHQL drivers for both Windows 8.1 and 10 definitely fixing the issues come out.

I've got no problem with 15.7 drivers so far with my 6570 based card. Watched an entire 3D movie from start to finish perfectly.

You're lucky as the aforementioned issues didn't affect all graphic cards.

Had already downloaded and burned WinX RTM ISO into a blank DVD, I do not plan installing the new OS yet because of the numerous complaints I've just heard about frequent crashes, BSODs and user-unfriendly GUI. For the instance I've disabled the upgrade notification mechanism from my laptop using a registry tweak.

Hope M$ will restore a couple of features already present on their previous OSes in future builds. smile

No crashes yet for me. GUI seems pretty user friendly to me.
