PowerDirector 12: CyberLink are planning to release a patch fix asap to implement the new YouTube API in PowerDirector 12.

TEMP FIX has been withdrawn.

The temp workaround applies for PDR12. Editors should create either a wmv file or an mpeg4 and upload via a web browser to their YouTube account as a work around solution.

For PowerDirector 11 & 10 users, editors should create either a wmv file or an mpeg4 and upload via a web browser to their YouTube account as a work around solution.

Temporary fix fails to import Youtube categories. Unable to select video category. Upload refuses to start.

Hope the patch is more effective.

I had the same problem. Couldn't select a video category.

Before trying this fix, I had tried just producing a video to MPeg4 and then uploading it. For some reason it showed as compressed vertically on youtube, so it was unrecognizable, and yet the sound was fine.

I will try uploading a produced video again, but yes the powerdirector utility has been very convenient in the past, and always successful until this latest failure that has been affecting me for the last couple of weeks.

Though I initially set out to show that it worked, I have to confirm that the .dll fix leaves users stranded. There is no option to select a video category &, therefore, no ability to upload via PDR12.

That means, for now at least, no user of pre-PDR13, can submit a video to DirectorZone.

I'm sure the team at CL will get it sorted soon

I have exactly the same problem. I applied this 'fix' and now have a different problem. Did nobody test this 'fix' before releasing it?

Hi All,
Looks like the "fix" is a no goer. CL have informed me the Patch will correct the issue asap. In the meantime the workaround for PDR11 and earlier is the one for PDR12 users as well.

Hi Colin,
On the PowerDirector 13 forum the 2907.1 patch fix for the YouTube upload issue is mentioned/a "sticky". http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/44094.page
I stress it is the 2907.1 patch, the original 2907.0 patch was withdrawn, on the CL updates page the patch info just reads 2907.
