Peter, the 2907.1 patch was only released last week, so the version you received (2604) was current when you made your purchase 2 weeks ago.

The good news is that the patch worked and you're back to editing

Okay - so... I just purchased PD13 Monday (6/22/15). Straight out of the box I have not been able to upload to You Tube - since this is the ONLY reason I bought this product - AND - I have a deadline for my project, I am wondering what I should do to remedy it.

When I click the links provided by Dafydd, I only see 2907, the 2907.1 patch is nowhere to be found. (I searched).

So... is there a way to save the file as something /other/ than a PDS so that I can upload it to You Tube?

I have to say, for something that is so expensive, and is billed as the best for the consumer market, I am not very impressed with it.

The link that Dafydd posted is 2907.1. The original 2907 patch was withdrawn and can no longer be accessed. As long as you download and install the official 2907 patch, you will get V2907.1. You'll be able to verify that when you start PD and click on the big PowerDirector button at the top right.

You can't upload a PDS file to YT because .PDS is a PowerDirector project file, not a video. You need to produce the video to an appropriate video format like MP4 or M2TS.

Also, the issue with uploading to YouTube only concerns the function in PD to produce and upload automatically to your YT account. Many people (myself included) simply produce to their preferred format and click on the Upload button when logged into YT. The advantage is that you have full control of the resolution and file type.

I hope this helps clarify the situation!

That's what I had hoped you would say (re the patch).

I only wanted to figure out the alt way to upload in case the patch didn't work. Like I said, I have a deadline.

It's uploading now, so my fingers are crossed.

Thanks Optodata!

Optodata V2907.1 did the trick for me - or so it seems. After installing the patch I initially had no problems uploading to YouTube. But a couple of weeks later I seem to have other YouTube problems. The last few times I have tried to upload I get the authorisation message to allow PD to upload to YT, and after giving the authorisation PD 13 produces the appropriate file for YouTube. After the file is created I either get an immediate message to say the PD can't upload the file to YouTube OR it starts uploading but after uploading about 50% I then get a message to say that PD "could not upload the file to YouTube". Is this an issue with PD or YouTube? Obviously it's not an API issue - but something else. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what is the solution? If I upload to Vimeo I have no problem - the problem only seems to be with uploading to YouTube? Peter Ilyk

gregoman_60, this is a thread specifically about a problem with a recent PD13 patch. Please post your question in the PD (Previous Versions) forum.

You will find that there is already a *thread* related to your issue.
