Will this patch work for PD 12? If so, could someone provide step-by-step how-to for we non-techies out here? If not, is the only option to acquire PD 13?

OK, I upgraded to PD 13, downloaded the patch, and all is cool. So, I am happy, BUT, it seems like CyberLink could have handled this in a manner to not create so much angst among its loyal followers...

I just raised the YT upload function issue with CyberLink (to see if there was a fix). PowerDirector 12 and earlier users are the ones most likely to "suffer", the YT/API wont work forever when spec changes are made, as YT/Google upgrade their hosting streaming website.

From what I read, YT will change the YT/API every 12 months. So will Cyberlink be updating the API each time there is a change? According to Google:

"As part of our effort to evolve our developer platform (like introducing the Google APIs Terms of Service), we are moving some services to a one-year deprecation policy, a common industry practice among similar APIs. The four services moving to a one-year policy are:
Google App Engine
Google Cloud Storage
Google Maps/Earth APIs
YouTube API
Google App Engine, Google Maps/Earth APIs and YouTube API will wind down their current 3-year deprecation policy and will transition to the one-year policy in April 2014. "

So will Cyberlink be keeping an eye on this and providing new API patches for YT each year? They must be aware of this new Google policy.

Cyberlink releases new Software (PowerDirector) in the fall of each year. So yes, they do update the APIs once a year. Not for previous Software. Sometimes there are Patches for one to two year old Programs. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

Ditto, I have the same problem with PD11. ""Your Google account is not linked to a YouTube account. Go to YouTube and try to upload a video to cerate a YouTube account""

Lorsque je fais un test avec Ciberlink 12, J'essaie de placer un film sur youtube.

The YT upload issue for PDR13 users is to update to patch 2907.1

I have to upgrade every year *only* to have serious bugs fixed. That is not right. I've paid for this over and over and over. If buying it to get bug fixes isn't enough, the download is painfully slow.

The YT upload isn't a "bug" in PowerDirector but an API change by YT/Google to allow third party upload access to their streaming service. YT/Google changed the API and appear to opt to make API changes annually.

Older dated superseded software products are not maintained by any software company and PowerDirector 11 is an "old" product. YT/Google's API change has effected PDR 12/11/10 --> those users who upload to youtube via PDR but the workaround is, you can still upload via your YT account/web page.

Just my opinion.

This is the same issue, I believe, as what prompted the elimination of Freesound from the program. Freesound changed their API so often it was no longer practical for Cyberlink to continually offer updates. I still miss it, though, it was one of my favorite little "go-to" parts of PowerDirector. You can't blame Cyberlink for this. This is a Google initiated problem - and affects other programs as well - such as MovieMaker. At least Cyberlink fixed the problem - you probably won't see the same response from Microsoft and MovieMaker. Peter Ilyk

Can't download patch, link just takes me to the download page the 2907.1 is not listed. This is really getting frustrating. Still cannot upload to YouTube...I have clients waiting...really poor support Cyberlink...looking into other software after years of use.

Download the patch from the updates page and check the patch 2907 build number and you'll find it will be 2907.1.
