Simple Titles in Photo/Video Frames

I recently started with PowerDirector 13 and got my first movie prety well done. I had used Pinnacle for the past several years, and when I wanted to write a title on a video frame, I just typed it in, selected my font/size, etc. and it was done. EASY.

Not so with PD13, and Iv'e been struggling with it for days (!), until I was too frustated to go on. Perhaps my requirements are too simple??

Just a simple title on the picture, to show where a particular frame was shot. Please enlighten me.

Thanks very much!

Hi Maxwell15

You will have to either use one of the many title templates you find in the Title room and place the template on it's own track under your videoclip - or -you can make a title on a transparent background in a photo editor.

Browse through all the title templates and see what's available. It's a lot! Once you have chosen a template and placed it in timeline, highlight it and click on Modify. Then do the changes you would like.

Every new software has a learing curve. What you said about Pinnacle Studio is true up to 2009 for version 12. Version 15 and later introduces the motion title editor which is very simular to the way you use title designer in PD13. Just type in and select font size was in PS9 and below.

Here is a link that can help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPwoUoiScDY .

Hi Maxwell15 -

As Nina & tomasc have implied, and that great tutorial shows laughing what you want to do isn't very difficult.

Your timeline would look something like this, with titles overlaying the photos or video clips.

Thank you all very much. While I had been looking for a simpler solution, without the detour via the preset titles, I think I can live with it. As a "creature of habit" and long time user of Pinnacle I was a bit too stubborn to change my ways

Thanks for showing me the way ....

P.S. Great forum and great people!
