Fade out over multiple clips (titles)
[Post New]
Hello all,

So I am using titles for the lyrics of a background song and using subtitles for the actual speaking and the music fades out at the end so I was wondering if there was a way to have a fade out that would slowly make the lyrics go away (over multiple title clips).

Thank you!

Hi RazorCat272 -

So - applying a fade at the end of each title doesn't work for you?

Do you have a series of titles - e.g. each line of the song lyrics? or are all the lyrics scrolling throughout?

Cheers - Tony

Each line is its own title so applying a fade at the end of each would just fade each individual title. I want the fade to start at one of the titles and progressively fade out as it keeps switching titles, if that is possible.

It's hard to visualise what you're talking about, since song lyrics are usually completely linear (i.e. one follows the other from start to finish), but maybe something like the attached screenshot is something like what you're after.

The screenshot shows one title fading out as the next fades in.

If I understand you correctly, You want each line to be less visible than the previous as the music fades. So the 1st will be 100%, the second will be 80%, third 60%, etc...

You can achieve that effect by selecting each title one by one, then selecting Modify. Then use key frames, set the transparency, 0% at start, 20% at end. The next title, set start at 20% and end at 40%, and so forth until all titles are done.

Thank you ynotfish and James for replying. I should have been more specific and applied a snip of the clips to clarify. James had the right idea.

It is doing what I wanted now, so thank you all for your help!
