Powerdirector freezes my computer at launch, "Importing file: C:\xxx\xxx.jpg"

First of all, I must say, I am very dissatisfied with Cyberlink's completely broken product. I originally had Powerdirector 11, which had a problem of rendering my videos up to a certain point before giving me an error, "The production was unsuccessful." Browsing these very forums led me to believe an update would solve the problem. I downloaded a patch, which prompted the message, "This patch could not be installed because the appropriate product is not installed on your computer." So, I basically had an incompatible version of Powerdirector. So I shelled out some money for Powerdirector 13 Ultra (64 bit), only now, every single time I launch the program, my computer freezes entirely as soon as it opens, forcing me to do a cold reboot.

I've installed Quicktime, uninstalled Powerdirector 11, Reinstalled Powerdirector 13, cleaned the registry, Installed K-Lite Codec Pack Mega, all to no avail. Oh, and might I add that my antivirus (Avast Free Edition) picks up multiple pieces of malware in your installer (when the Avast shields are on)? I'm assuming these are all false positives, but now I wonder...

Anyway, my system specs are

Microsoft Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview (x64)
Intel Core i3-3220 @ 3.30 GHz
8GB Crucial DDR3 1600
1TB Western Digital Black HDD 72000RPM
Sapphire Radeon R7 260x OC Edition 2GB

Attached is a copy of my dxdiag.txt. Forgive me if I sound rude or cocky, but my experience with computers has made me question the stability and authenticity of Cyberlink's products. That, and I'm in a bit of a livid mood right now. I still hope this issue gets resolved. If not, a full refund may very well be requested.

Did you ever try it on a Windows commercial product. W10 is not and there will be changes to it and to the program to make it compatible.

Is your video driver Windows 10 certified?

Look at all the Windows errors at the bottom of the dxdiag file you posted. When did you last update W10.

Look at this http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/insider_wintp-insider_perf/windows-10-installupgrade-wspackagemanager-uses-20/73c718b1-2367-48d7-8f8e-49c189ec17b5?page=2

I think you will find that CL suggest a minimum of i5 in the system requirements for PD13. An i3 is always going to struggle with video editing. Panny TM10, GH2, GH4,

Well, guys, I figured out the problem. It has nothing to do with everything I've found here. It actually turns out that PowerDirector is incompatible with Catalyst Control Center (at least, 15.4)

I fixed the issue by downgrading to 14.12 (Not sure if you need to downgrade, but I did it to be safe), choosing a CUSTOM install, and electing NOT to install Catalyst Control Center. Now the program opens.
