I am importing 1080P 60, 30 FPS also tried 720 60 and 30 FPS. video clips into powerdirector 13. The clips were choppy in preview and on the time line. I found another post that said enable hardware decoding. I did that and had it on HD display. Clip was clear when in preview, but once I put it in the time line and played it was not clear but choppy. I have a quad 4 - 2.5 GH computer. 4GB ram. I have a Nvida GeForce 9500 video card, the video card resolution is 2560 X 1600. Nvida tec said will handle 1080p. when viewing clips on WWP clips are clear. Updated drivers for video card as of 5.5.15 Problem was their before I updated the drivers. Looking at starting a wedding video business, but will not be able to use PowerDiroctor 13 when I created a sample DVD it came out choppy. I could use some help. If I can't get this fixed I will have to try another Video eding progam. I really do like 13. All my DV tape videos come out great.

Your pc does not meet the minimum requirements to edit HD videos in my opinion. Years ago, a 2.67Ghz quad core was needed for 1080/60i video editing, let alone 60p. See this recommendation: http://www.cyberlink.com/support/product-faq-content.do?id=17743&prodId=4&prodVerId=-1&CategoryId=-1&keyword=What . As far as using the using the gpu card for video decoding performance, see this link : http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=GeForce+9500+GT .

Your pc can edit HD videos okay if you leave the pc on overnight to generate all those required shadow files. Others have done it. Time is money as they say in the wedding video buisness. Hope you success.

Let us know if this helps.

Unfortunately, this. That PC was a beast 6-7 years back, but if you look at the quality of home-produced digital video from that era, it gives a good example of what was workable on a PC like that - i.e., not all that impressive (with some notable exceptions, obviously).

And whatever nVidia tech told you the 9500 was suitable for full HD decoding was an incredible optimist. For a short time I used a 9600GT (a much more powerful card) in an HTPC, and it still occasionally had issues with high bitrate full-HD content. Running the high screen resolution you are on the 9500 isn't helping your performance any either - that card is from an era when the average person was running 1024x768 17" screens, and although spec-wise it can drive large displays, it was never really intended for that.

Any video editing software you use will not offer satisfactory performance working with full HD on that machine.

That being said, if you need any advice on an upgrade or replacement path, feel free to ask. You can build a suitable machine on a shoestring budget these days. Nanoxia Deep Silence 1 case | Ultra X4 850W PSU | Asrock Fatal1ty Killer 990FX | AMD FX8320@4.7gHz | Coolermaster Nepton 240m | 2x HIS R9 290 GPUs | 24gb G.Skill Ripjaws 1600mHz DDR3 | OCZ ARC 100 480gb SSD | Various WD Black and Seagate drives to the tune of ~20tb | I have been building systems for over 16 years, however my opinions can be and sometimes are incorrect. Please, call me out if I say something asinine.

Hello, thank you for getting back to me. Could use your help. I do have to build a system on a shoe string but something that will last me for a while. I have been looking on line for the best processer, video card, MOB, and memory. I have built my computers in the past. I got a good deal on this one 6-7 years ago that is why I did not build it. I will build this system myself. I am running windows 7 64. Which I like. I want it to work so I can edit HD wedding videos which I will be taking for my business. I will lookup all the items that you listed and check it out. Again Thanks for the advice.
