Hi NonnyM
I don't think that there are many hard and fast rules for monitors. Every editor will have their own preferences, budgets, available space, etc.
The best advice I can give is to use a monitor (or 2) that have at least the full native resolution of your recorded media. For example, use a 1920x1080 monitor if you're editing HD media, or a 4k monitor if you plan to edit 3840x2160. There are other resolution monitors as well, like an ultrawide
2560x1080 which would let you have a nearly full screen editor plus some room on the side for other tasks.
I've been happy with two identical Samsung 27"
1920x1080 monitors and always dedicate one screen to PD. You may want to look at samples in a store to get a sense for how they actually look, but I don't think you need to worry about a specific model.
If you go with a second monitor, you can use the dual monitor preview setting to see the full-size video while you're editing. Please be aware that you may need to reduce the perview quality or use
non real-time mode to really use that second full screen video. It takes a lot of computer "horsepower" to render the video plus any effects and corrections in real time, and you may find that you have to use the Produce Range feature to benefit from using that second monitor.
I'm sure there are many other opinions out there and almost certainly no "wrong" answers or choices.
