Question about 3d rips

Do I have to use iso rips when it comes to 3d movies? or will it work just the same if I rip the file system? I have a rip of Frozen and it only seems to play in 2D with the file method of ripping.

I'm not cedrtain how many people will answer you since in most countries ripping a commercial DVD is illegal. .

I think I found I had to rip 3D discs to ISO files for PowerDVD 14 to work with them. But have you got the 3D option selected as there is no auto 3D disc detection with PowerDVD 14.
