Hi!

You've introduced a "Smart Enhancement" section and an "Advanced Enhancement" section.

All the boxes in these two sections are checked.

How do I know if TrueTheatre auto adjustment for video is working?

How do I know that I haven't screwed up the video quality manually in "Advanced Enhancement" section? How can I know that PowerDVD can give me the best quality on auto mode?

What section is activated by default? "Smart Enhancement" and "Advanced Enhancement" are working together now?

There is no more auto mode.

Very confusing !!!!!!!!!!!

hi,
you can manually adjust youur Settings at any time in the Advanced section.
When Switch off in the Smart section also the Video enhancements in the advanced section are off.

the "Smart" tab is a easy to use tab for the user who does not want to tweak in detail.

Hi!

Yes, I figured it out. I just clicked the "Smart Enhancements" tab with the boxes checked.

The video and sound quality is noticeable better than PowerDVD 14.

Hi Bogdan,

Can you please tell more about why you feel these are better n the new version? In what way are they better?

I'm currently using PDVD 14, and have only just discovered there's a new version. There are no new features that seem relevant to me, but I'm interested to hear of any improvements. There are reasons I don't want to uninstall PDVD 14 to run a trial, so I'd be grateful if you could give more information on this.

Many thanks!

At my gut level, the image looks sharper and detailed.

I use the sound for normal environments, and I hear more "space". The sound is better than PowerDVD 14.

I'm not sure how better is the video compared to PowerDVD 14 because before installing PowerDVD 15 I made a setting on my video card driver software and improved the colors.

I'll give you this "secret" too if you want, to improve the image in PowerDVD 14.

Do you have a laptop? Or desktop? What video card do you have?

Bogdan,
I have a desktop, and am currently using an nVidia GeForce GT 740.

I have desktop too, with AMD. And Samsung LED monitor via HDMI.

One day, my brother told me to change the Pixel Format from the video driver application to match the monitor's pixel format.

By default, I've had "YcBcR 4:4:4"... and I changed it to "RGB 4:4:4 - Limited RGB".

The result is amazing! I didn't know this before.

Then, I tried a movie with PowerDVD 14 and the quality of the image was visually better. More details. And better image in the operating system in general.

My advice: try changing the Pixel Format to match your monitor and judge the result.

Pixel Format can be changed from your video driver application, not PowerDVD.

I have AMD. I don't know for Nvidia.

Look for monitor settings on your driver application. You'll find pixel format setting somewhere.

There are 4 options for lixel formats. Experiment with them to see picture quality.

For example, I have the best quality image on my monitor on 4:4:4 Limited RGB (full RGB gives me too much white).

But it depends on your monitor or TV.

Just play around with the pixel formats and judge the results.
