Failing to burn discs or create image

Hi all,

Got a big wedding file I need to burn to bluray. Already produced the overall file and got an mp4 of it so that actual video is already created. But burning a disc doesn't work (and this is the first time I've actually tried to burn a disc so not like it's worked before and suddenly stopped working). Doesn't even get past 0%. Just get an error saying either the source file is missing or contains an error or I've run out of system memory.

But it says this with any video file I try to burn so can't be an issue with the source wedding file, and also does it whether I burn to disc or burn to create a file on my desktop. I have 16gb of ram so no idea what the issue is.

Any thoughts as to why it doesn't even start to burn?

Try to save your disk in a folder on the hard drive.

If it gives some error writing and is trying to re-record point to new folder or delete the folder you created earlier.

Just guess no certainty that it will solve.

Getting your disc in a folder, you can try again straight to disk or burn DVD from Video-Ts folder with other sofware DVD recording. AMD-FX 8350 / 8GB DDR3

Hi PlaySound... thanks for replying. But it happens whether I try to burn disk or save into a folder. It just spends 30 seconds on 0% then sends up an error message. I just randomly starting trying it over and over with different settings turn on or off and I've now got it work by turning off all hardware acceleration in the overall preferences tab. Not entirely sure why this has made it work but hey ho.

I am glad that solve your problem.

Hardware acceleration has to do with the video rendering.

Here is always off, never worked well with my signature video card. AMD-FX 8350 / 8GB DDR3

When I actually rendered it the first time to produce the video file, I had hardware acceleration on and it rendered fine (indeed, hardware acceleration has been on since I've had PD12 and done dozens of videos). Just doesn't seem to like rendering with hardware acceleration when it actually has to burn a disc too. Very strange! But hey. Thanks.

And I said never worked well here, but this was to MPEG2 to MPEG4 (MP4) works and even slightly reduces the time spent and also generates a smaller file.

The last update ATI radeon (Omega) improved in general and disabled HE for MPEG2 in Produce room. AMD-FX 8350 / 8GB DDR3
