Rendering for TV

Newbie here:

When I download the video from my Nikon 7100 and copy it to a USB I can see it on the TV without any problem.

However at rendering time I have tried many options, when copied to a usb the TV gives me a "not supported" message.

As a DVD no problem.

Is there a way to render into a file that can be copied to a usb and therefore see it on TV.

Again be patient with me. new at this.

See the HDTV manual, which video format support it, but the common is MPEG4 (MP4), MPEG2 and DIVX.

If the original video does not play on TV, try to convert to format that your TV supports.

If you have no way of knowing goes tentaiva, start with MPEG2, MP4...

Note: There are HDTV that does not play videos via USB. AMD-FX 8350 / 8GB DDR3

The Samsung TV plays videos that I have downloaded from other cameras to a USB Flash drive (not rendered-straight out from the camera ).The issue is when rendering

Use SVRT if possible, enabled there will be rendering to any video, only where to take an effect ... and even the original video format.

In the case of SVRT not activate, render in another format compatible with the HDTV.

Mikw1951 - you didn't specify which Samsung model, but I have a 2014 Samsung smart TV. I have no issue playing MP4 files created by PD13.

Load your PD13 project
Click on PRODUCE at the top
Click on the H264/AVC button and select MP4 from the drop down list
Choose one the PRofile Name/Quality that best fits your project or you can create a custom Profile

Be sure to check the Output Folder
THen Click Start to render

You dont say which type of file you produced to.

In my tv the usb has to be formatted to Fat16/32 or exFat and supports for eg

Mpeg file ext: .mpg/.mpeg video codec: mpeg1/mpeg2 audiocodec: mpeg layer 1/2, mp3, linear pcm

MP4 file ext: .mp4 video codec:H264 base/main/high profiles audio codec: aac,mp3,dolby digital

If you dont have your manual you can find out online the audio/video codecs and profiles supported by your tv.

Usb sticks and flash are to small/expensive.Best to use one of those slim portable usb ext drives.Ive got one formatted to exFat
by Win 8.1 2TB in size which stores loads of media files and works great.
