Simple slide show with music

I cannot figure out how to do this. I'm trying to create a video that will start with basically a slideshow of still pictures with music, then will have a section with video clips with many of these also set to music. I've figured out how to get the pictures and videos in the PD12 timeline. How do I select a simple crossfade transistion, set to 2 seconds, for each transisition between each picture and video?

Thanks much!! Really appreciate the help.

Change transition duration:

Menu, Edit / Preferences / Editing / Durations / Transition:

change the value / OK

PD12 already comes configured for 2 sec. duration.

In transitions room select the transition name, Fade, add the junction of 2 photos or video clip.

If you want to change the mode of transition between Croos or Overlap.

Select the transition and button Modify.

If not this, more details.

Hi Andy43 -

These two tutorials, even though they were made using PDR 8, may be helpful to you. They cover all the basics of building a project like yours.

First Project I
First Project II

Depending on the style of your production, you may find that 2 second transitions can be a bit tedious after the first couple! Shorter transitions/fades (1 second or less) - or none at all - are less intrusive.

Marvin - SS Creator doesn't open at start up because you have "Always enter the Full Feature editor at startup" checked in Prerences > Confirmation. That doesn't matter - just select the images you want in the slideshow then click Slideshow - now you're in SS Creator "laughing"

Cheers - Tony

Thanks, Tony
Works like a charm!
Unless I missed something, the problem with click sldeshow, is that you have to process each and every slide individually. With SS creator you can batch process.

Hi Marvin -

I think you may have missed something there. Whether you get to Slideshow Creator from the opening menu or the main timeline, it functions just the same way, with the same options available.

Cheers - Tony
