preview display too 'hot'

Files that I've imported that appear to be shot at a rerasaonably correct exposure, and which view fine in VLC, appear in the preview window looking like they are overexposed by about 5 stops! Changing the preview quality from HD to normal doesn't seem to make any difference?

What's the source/properties of the clips? Would it be possible to attach a 5-10 second sample here?

Is there anything in your monitor display settings you think might be affecting how PDR is displaying clips in preview? Any enhancements applied? Set to full colour range?
